Short answer: no. Character.AI does not allow NSFW content at any tier, including its paid c.ai+ plan. Its filter blocks sexual content and steers romantic conversations away when they escalate. That is a deliberate policy, not a bug, and there is no official setting to turn it off.
What the filter does in practice
- Sexual content is blocked in chat, whatever the character or scenario.
- Romance is allowed up to a point. Flirting and affection generally work; escalation gets redirected or cut off.
- There are no images, so there is no image filter to worry about either.
- Paying changes nothing. c.ai+ adds speed and features, not a looser policy.
What about "jailbreaks" and filter bypasses?
You will find prompts that claim to bypass the filter. We do not recommend them: they break the terms you agreed to, can get an account restricted, and even when they appear to work, the filter usually catches up mid-conversation.
